ANNIVERSARY GALAOn November 16th, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) celebrated
its 25th Anniversary with a Gala Dinner at the Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna,
Austria. The event brought together representatives from member federations,
partners, institutions, and distinguished guests.
Vienna holds special significance
for EUSA, as it was founded in
this city in 1999. This historical
connection made Vienna
the perfect venue for such a
momentous occasion. The
celebration took place in the
heart of the city, hosted by
the Austrian University Sports
Organisation and the University
of Vienna.
The 25th Anniversary Gala served
as a gathering to commemorate
a significant milestone in EUSA’s
journey, which has been built
on passion, dedication, and a
commitment to excellence in
university sports. The celebration
began with remarks from Hemma
Angerer, President of the Austrian
University Sports Organisation,
extending her wishes for a joyful
and delightful evening, and
congratulating EUSA on reaching
this important milestone.The second formal welcome
was delivered on behalf of
EUSA President Adam Roczek,
who expressed gratitude to all
attendees for their presence,
as well as for their support and
collaboration over the past 25
years.Subsequent to the two
distinguished welcoming
addresses, the program for the
Gala Dinner commenced with
the inaugural act of the cultural
segment: a remarkable musicalperformance by the Vienna
Opera Ball Orchestra, led by
Chief Conductor and Artistic
Director, Univ.-Doz. Mag. Laszlo
Gyuker. Throughout the evening,
the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra
presented a selection of their
exquisite musical compositions.In conjunction with the
musical performance, a dance
presentation was performed
by the Svabek Dance School,
which has been responsible for
the artistic choreography of the
dance interludes at the Vienna
Opera Ball for many years.Being situated in Vienna,
the birthplace of EUSA, and
reflecting on the journey overthe past 25 years, EUSA takes
great pride in celebrating a path
characterized by collaboration,
dedication, and support. We
acknowledge with appreciation
the invaluable partnerships that
have significantly contributed to
our shared success.This acknowledgment was
accomplished through the
presentation of special
appreciation awards to local
institutions and individuals who
made significant contributions to
the development and growth of
the organization, alongside the
