EUSA Year Magazine 2024-2025

(eusaunisport) #1

As we turn the page of 2024,
let’s take pride in looking back at
all the exceptional FISU athletes
who took part in the Paris 2024
Games – including organising
committee president Tony
Estanguet, who before becoming
a three-time Olympic Champion
in canoe slalom (in Sydney,
Athens and London), won the C1
category at the 1998 FISU World
University Championship Canoe
Slalom in Metz!

At the Torino 2025 FISU World
University Games Winter (13-23
January) and the Rhine-Ruhr
2025 FISU World University
Games Summer (16-27 July),
inclusion will be central to both
events as they will host para-
student-athletes for the very first
time in the history of the FISU

Games. In Italy, they will compete
alongside able-bodied athletes
in both alpine and cross-country
skiing, and in Germany, they
will impress the crowds in 3x3
wheelchair basketball. Excited?
The whole university sports
community certainly is!
