Table Tennis players from 20
different countries participated in
the teams, singles, and doubles
competitions that took place in
Kossuth High School Sports Hall.
Nisantasi University (TUR) won
the men’s team competition,
narrowly defeating the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology
Lausanne (SUI). Both the
University of Vienna (AUT) and
the Zamojski Academy (POL)
rightfully earned the bronze
medal.
For the women’s teams, the
University of Zagreb (CRO)
emerged as the champion, with
Sofia University (BUL) finishing
second. Just as in the men’s
team competition, two bronze
medalists emerged, with both the
Lublin University of Technology
(POL) and the University of
Ljubljana (SLO) securing third
place. Both the men’s and
women’s team competition was
marked by strategic play and
strong team coordination.
In men’s singles, Jakub Folwarski
from Zamojski Academy
(POL) claimed the first place,
demonstrating precision and
control. On the women’s side,
Ines Matos of University of
Porto (POR) earned the gold,
showcasing her skill and
consistency.
The doubles competitions saw
Ibrahim Gunduz and Amin
Ahmadian from Istanbul Nisantasi
University (TUR) win the men’s
title, while Kalina Hristova and
Mariya Yovkova from Sofia
University St. Kliment Ohridski
(BUL) took the women’s doubles
gold.
EUSA and the city of Burdur,
Turkiye, are looking forward to
welcome student-athletes at the
next EUSA Table Tennis event as
part of the European Universities
Championships, to be held from
September 11-16, 2025.
165 eager athletes from 28 European universities traveled to
Debrecen to compete in Table Tennis, showcase their skills,
and celebrate their successes.
