119 participants were part of
the competition, forming a total
number of 8 teams, representing
8 universities and coming from 3
countries.
The championship concluded
with a stunning victory for
the University of Split (CRO),
which defeated the Budapest
Business University (HUN) 10-9
in the final match. The bronze
medal was won by the Corvinus
University of Budapest (HUN),
which defeated the University of
Debrecen in a closely contested
game 13-11 for Corvinus.
The crowds were cheering and
making sure to show their support
for their team. Afterwards, they
had the chance to enjoy the
award ceremony, seeing the
participants proudly receiving
their hard-earned medals.
Additional important awards were
given at the end of the Water Polo
competition.
The Most Valuable Player
award was presented to Andras
Garancsy from Budapest
Business University (HUN),
while the Top Scorer was Kristof
Sziladi from Corvinus University
of Budapest (HUN). The award
for Best Goalkeeper was proudly
held by Marin Cordic from
University of Split (CRO).
EUSA and the city of Vukovar,
Croatia, are looking forward to
welcome student-athletes at the
next EUSA Water Polo event as
part of the European Universities
Championships, to be held from
July 7–13, 2025.
Water Polo debuted as a demonstrative sport at the European
Universities Games in Zagreb-Rijeka in 2016, missed the 2018 edition,
and then returned to showcase athletes’ competitive spirit in Lodz in
2022 and at this year’s Games in Debrecen-Miskolc.
