The EUSA Convention, an
annual training program,
gathers organizers of upcoming
European Universities
Championships and Games,
along with Technical Delegates
and the EUSA Sports
Department, to discuss all facets
of event organization.
This year, EUSA and FISU
representatives, EUSA
Technical Delegates, future
Organizing Committees of the
upcoming European Universities
Championships 2025, and other
delegates gathered in Salerno,
Italy for a joint event, including
EUSA Convention and EUSA-
FISU Seminar. These two events
were organised simultaneously
for the very first time in the city
of the next European Universities
Games 2026.
On the first day, the official
opening of the Convention
started with the welcome
remarks by Lorenzo Lentini, CUS
Salerno President and President
of the European Universities
Games Salerno 2026. The
opening was also addressed by
Adam Roczek, EUSA President,
and Leonz Eder, FISU President,
who emphasized the great
growth of university sport across
Europe and highlighted the
importance of these events for
university sport communities.
The first part of the day was
dedicated to EUSA-FISU Seminar,
and the Convention official
program started with a panel
discussion moderated by Eszter
Gulyas, EUSA Sports Coordinator,
focusing on the “Lessons
Learned” from the EUSA
Games in 2024 and European
Universities Championships in
2023.
The speakers of the panel
included Haris Pavletic, EUSA 1st
Vice President, Bruno Barracosa,
EUSA Vice President, Marianna
Pikul, AZS International Relations
Department, and Peter Juhasz,
MEFS Secretary General, who
shared their perspectives on the
topics including legacy of these
events, the roles of volunteers
and officials, and the meaning
of the European Universities
Games as one of the university
sports events on European level.
The discussion also delved into
the organizational elements
of the European Universities
Championships, examining
successful case studies and
challenges faced, as well as the
possibility of implementation of
new sports on the EUSA sports
programme.

SALERNO
The beautiful coastal city of Salerno, Italy, welcomed delegates
to the EUSA Convention from October 10-13, 2024, as part of the
preparations for the 2025 European Universities Championships.
