This year’s magazine edition of the
EUSA Insider brings you stories
from athletes, volunteers, and
organisers from the European
Universities Games 2024,
sharing firsthand experiences
and insight from the time spent at
the competitions, as well as their
inspirational messages.
The EUSA Insider interviewees come from different
countries, sports, and backgrounds; they are of different
ages and fields of study, but with one thing in common: the
love for sport.
With the EUSA Insider interviews and statements, EUSA aims
to give a voice and to share the stories and feelings towards
the competition, the sport, and EUSA events in which these
individuals were part of.

Dinis Ramos, 26
Futsal
University of Maia (POR)
“ I think the most exciting
part of this event is the
opportunity to meet and
interact with people from
different countries and
backgrounds. It’s not just
about the sport; it’s about
the human connection.
That kind of interaction
doesn’t happen every day.
We’ve been here for about
12 days, and it’s been
great to talk to people,
share experiences, and
really understand that this
event is as much about
connecting with others
as it is about futsal.”
Mirjam Sipos, 33
Local Organising Committee
“ EUG 2024 was more than
just a game: a unique
platform where people
connected and longtime
networks were built. Being
part of the organizing
committee was one of
the most challenging yet
rewarding experiences,
as we delivered one of
the largest multisport
events in Hungary’s
history. Besides gaining
new infrastructure, the OC
gained invaluable skills,
stronger communities,
and a legacy that lasts far
beyond the final whistle.”
