(^24) The Dalles – Boardman - 114 km
Still feeling under the weather, staying one more day was enticing,
but my restlessness got the better of me. With the wind in my favour,
packing up was a speedy affair. A strong tailwind made for effortless
riding toward Boardman—a good thing too, as I was feeling downright
terrible.
Boardman had a beautiful campsite offering a luxurious lawn right on
the Columbia River. The nearby shops provided a stack of food, but I
had no appetite and just ate the salad.
The pedal or bottom bracket on my bicycle made the most ungodly
noise, and I could only hope it would get me to the next village,
roughly 30 miles further.
