Capital city
The UAE is a federation of seven emirates consisting of Abu Dhabi
(which serves as the capital) Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah,
Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
Currency
The name of the currency in the United Arab Emirates is the dirham
(AED) or Arab Emirate Dirham– also commonly abbreviated to Dhs or
DH.
Language
Arabic is the official language.
Religion
Islam is both the official and majority religion in the United Arab
Emirates, followed by approximately 76% of the population.
Location and size
The UAE is a small country and measures approximately 83,600 km².
(544 km NE – SW and 361 km SE – NW) and borders the Arabian
Gulf in the North, Oman in the East and on the South and West it is
bordered by Saudi Arabia, and on the Northwest, by Qatar.
