Tasked with reimagining a traditional warehouse, the client request-
ed a visually striking design that diverges from standard industrial aes-
thetics. The project focused on enhancing the two front elevations,
using existing plans as a foundation. The main challenge was to mini-
mize the visual dominance of the typical profiled sheet roofing. To ad-
dress this, the design introduces a seamless Aluminum Composite
Panel (ACP) cladding envelope that conceals the roofline, delivering
a sleek, modern appearance that sets the building apart in its context.
To harmonize the warehouse with the surrounding complex, which features
brick-faced buildings, the elevations incorporate complementary brickwork.
This approach fosters visual cohesion across the site. The corporate identity
is accentuated with vibrant red ACP panels, prominently displaying the build-
ing’s name for enhanced visibility. Additionally, the design reconfigures the
two mezzanine levels intended for worker use by extending the existing floor
slabs outward by five feet, creating functional balconies. These extensions
provide outdoor space for occupants while introducing a dynamic facade with
projections and recesses, adding a human scale to the industrial structure.
