and the Technion. Over the years, Dr. Kahana has published many pa-
pers and articles on related issues and also organized panels and con-
ferences. This experience provided the basis for a reference work that
will doubtlessly be welcomed by students and fans of intelligence and
counterintelligence, not only for its contents but also for its organization
and the accessible style. Indeed, the entries on certain operations and
operatives read almost more like fiction than reality, although they are
the stuff of what is broadly regarded as one of the top—if not thetop—
intelligence establishments.
