thatcombinedactionbetweenthetribeswouldbeimpossiblewithout
somemoreorlesslastingcompositionoftheirfeuds,enmitiesand
jealousies,andfailed to realizethatreligiousenthusiasmcouldnotbe

oneanotheraftertheYoungTurksapproachedthemandconcluded
thattheywouldawaiteventsratherthanjointheOttomans.IbnSaud
hadinformedthePortethatbecauseofhiscontinuingfeudwithIbn
Rashidhecouldnotuse hisarmiestoprotectMesopotamia,leaving
Najdopentoattack,unlessIbnRashid'sforcesmovedagainstEgypr."
