thatanunbelieverdressedas aMuslimpilgrimhadenteredArabia
andtheholycitiesofIslam.TheforeignministryandGeneralStaff
orderedRoloffarrested,butheavoidedtrialthroughoutthewar,
becausethegovernmentdidnotwishto givehimpublicity.»
