Temples of Luxor and Karnak

In Luxor, we woke to the sight of the Luxor Temple, which rose before
us like a dream in stone. Built around 1400 BCE, it wasn’t just a place
of worship—it was a stage for kingship, a place where pharaohs were
reborn. Over time, it evolved into a Roman fortress, a Christian
church, and, ultimately, a mosque that still stands today. History here
doesn’t erase its layers.

We followed the Avenue of Sphinxes to Karnak, where colossal
columns reached skyward like petrified trees. The scale was
staggering. I felt small, and yet somehow part of something vast and
eternal.
