Kampong Rengit - The Southernmost Point
Once again, Ernest was only ready by 11 o’clock, which made me
question whether cycling together was worth the frustration. A few
times, the rain came down so hard that we had to find shelter at the
bus and taxi stands. On the bright side, the road conditions were
excellent. While searching for a camping spot, we stumbled upon the
seaside village of Rengit, where I decided to book a room. Rengit is
located at the southeasternmost point of Malaysia, a stone through
from Singapore, where we planned to go the next morning.
Everything in Malaysia seemed oversized, including the bananas
(which are called pisang), as well as the ants and cockroaches.
