K-8 Program

Structured. Supportive. Rigorous.

At AST, academic success stems from a strong instructional framework, not

individual improvisation. We don’t ask teachers to build curriculum from

scratch. Instead, we equip them with robust, evidence-based programs -

so they can focus on what matters most: maximizing learning.

K-8 Program

Our KG5 - Grade 8 framework draws on established,

knowledge-building liberal arts curricula that support

coherence, retrieval, and skills development:

ELA: Wit & Wisdom

Math: Eureka Math, supported by Zearn

Science: Amplify Science

Social-Emotional Learning: Positive Action

PE: Complete PE based on the UK National Curriculum

Each of these curricula is fully sequenced, with built-in

assessments and resources. Teachers don’t need to

create their own scope and sequence, source materials

from the internet, or invent new lessons. That work is

already done - allowing teachers to plan purposefully

and respond to student needs in real time.

We prioritize “specific teaching”: teaching specific

content in a specific way, with specific assessments and

feedback.

The goal? Specific learning that sticks.

In Grades 9 - 12, students enter a challenging, College Board-accredited

academic pathway:

AST’s academic model is designed to ensure students gain

knowledge that is retained, applied, and built upon. Our

expectations are high, and so is our support. Learning is

purposeful, consistent, and visible in every classroom.

We expect students to think, write, and work in every lesson.

This is how we fulfill our vision to Do Beautiful Work.

Builds strong foundations across core subject areas and

shared principals of higher-order questioning, academic

conversation, close observation & analysis, and

evidence-based writing.

AP coursework offers university-level classes in subjects like

science, math, history, and literature, designed to challenge

high school students and potentially earn them college

credit. Each course emphasizes critical thinking, analytical

writing, and mastery of core concepts through rigorous

exams and assignments.

Each course follows a clearly defined structure.

Teachers are supported to understand exactly what

to teach - so they can focus on how to make it matter.
