sculptures by Epigonos, dedicated by King Attalus I (241-197 Be) to celebrate a series of
victories over the Gauls who had attacked the Pergamene state. The original monument was
set up on the acropolis at Pergamon, whilst a similar smaller scale version in bronze was a
