Figure 7.6 Copper alloy head of a young girl, said to have been found at Silkstead quarry in
the parish of Otterbourne, Hampshire. The pupils of the eyes are small black pebbles. Partly
Roman in style, the hatching round the eyes and ears is found in late iron age art, and into the
