‘Respect to the
guy for sitting
there and
painstakingly
creating a whole
universe, but to
me it’s a load of
indecipherable
nonsense.
However, it’s
sold 150m
copies, spawned
countless big-
budget movies
and I quite like the
idea of getting a
royalty statement
thicker than a
phone book.’

Frontier opportunity for new poets

GLOBAL POETRY MARKET

Jenny Roche

Welcoming international writers,
under represented and marginalised
voices, Frontier Poetry seeks to
provide a platform for new and
emerging voices, ie those who
have not had more than one full
length work published at the time
of submission. If you have self-
published work on social media,
personal pages, Amazon, etc, or
had published work with a print
run of less than 500 copies, you are
eligible to submit.

It is advised you send only
your best work. ‘Bend language,
experiment with visuality and
form, lay your heart bare on the
page,’ say guidelines. Simultaneous
submissions will be considered, just
submit a note if it then becomes
accepted elsewhere. Simultaneous
submissions will not be considered.
Submit no more than ten pages
or five poems along with a cover
letter noting any publication history,
your educational background and

personal history and what drives
your passion for writing. If you
would like a 1-2 page feedback on
your work or a fast response these
are available for a fee.
Payment rates are $50-$150 for
first publication rights for a three
month period.
Submit using the Submittable
link on the website and include all
poems in one document.
