CREATE A SHARED HA S H TAG FOR
YOUR RETREAT SO PHOTOS CAN BE
SHARED BY EVERYONE.

Retreats are a wonderful way
to learn from one another.
You can get a lot of projects
completed if you’re organized
and prepared before you go.”

What do you love about quilt retreats?

“I HAVE DEVELOPED SOME OF MY
CLOSEST FRIENDSHIPS ON RETREATS—
SOME WITH CASUAL ACQUAINTANCES,
SOME WITH NEW ACQUAINTANCES. I
HAVE NEVER REGRETTED GOING ON A
RETREAT!”
—Doris Brunnette, EDITOR

“RETREATS ARE MY FAVORITE TIME
TO CONQUER MY UFO’S. I LOVE
STAYING OVERNIGHT AT A FUN
PLACE, SIPPING WINE, AND SEWING
LATE INTO THE NIGHT IN MY PJ’S.”
—Lindsay Mayland, EDITOR

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SEWING TIME BY
GETTING TO KNOW FELLOW QUILTERS. REMEMBER
TO WALK AROUND AND VISIT WITH OTHERS
ABOUT THEIR PROJECTS.

Take a break to play a quick dice
game called Left, Right, Center with
fabric in lieu of chips.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Left, Right, Center dice

  • 3 fat quarters per player

1

Players start the game in a circle
with the three fat quarters they
brought in front of them.

2

The first player rolls all three
dice. If a die lands on the "L,"
she gives a fat quarter to the player
on her left. If a die lands on "R," she
gives a fat quarter to the player on
her right. If a die lands on "C," she
moves a fat quarter to a pile in the
center. If she rolls a dot, she gets to
keep her fat quarter.

3

Turns move around the circle as
many times as needed until one
person is left with a fat quarter. She
wins all the fat quarters in the center.

GAME ON!

“My ideal retreat has time to sew for
charity. I like when we’re all making the
same project for the same cause so we
can tally up how many we made and
feel proud of our accomplishments.”
—Joanna Burgarino, EDITOR

“I LOVE GETTING AWAY FROM THE PHONE, KIDS, SPOUSE, EMAILS,
AND LIFE IN GENERAL AND COMPLETELY IMMERSING MYSELF IN
MY PASSION WITH PEOPLE WHO LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DO. IT’S ALSO
WONDERFUL TO LEARN NEW SKILLS, TIPS, AND HINTS TO MAKE MY
PIECING THE BEST IT CAN BE!”
—Pam Buda, heartspunquilts.com.com

Every year I attend two retreats
involving three generations of
my family—the It’s All Relatives
retreats. I even designed a
logo that we had printed on
handmade tote bags. I love
that quilting is something we
share. It gives us dedicated
time together separate from the
holidays. I have learned so much
about quilting and our family
through these retreats.”
