20 ×24" rectangle, batting
20 ×24" rectangle, and muslin 20×24"
rectangle; baste.

across the layered rectangle (Pillow

(^6)
Cut quilted rectangle into two
111 ∕ 4 × 181 ∕ 2 " backing rectangles
(Diagram 2).
(^7)
Use brown-and-beige stripe 2^1 ∕ 2 "-
wide bias strips to bind one long
edge of each backing rectangle. (For
details, see Complete Quilt.)
(^8)
Referring to Diagram 2, layer
backing rectangles, overlapping
bound edges about 4", to make an 18^1 ∕ 2 "
square. Baste across overlapped edges
to make pillow back.
Designer Janice Joyner embellished a
Wooly Felted Wonders Large Tote Kit
(woolyfeltedwonders.com) with the
Summer’s Song appliqué design to
create a colorful bag. She appliquéd the
front panel before assembling the tote.
She used a green batik to bind the top
edges and to add color to the handles.
(^9)
With wrong sides together, layer
quilted pillow top and pillow back.
Sew edges together to make pillow
cover.
(^10)
Bind pillow cover using
remaining brown-and-beige
stripe 2^1 ∕ 2 "-wide bias strips. Insert
pillow form through opening in back
to complete pillow.
