CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.
Designer Jessica Dayon prefers to
make triangle-squares larger than
necessary, then trim them to size. To
use this method, cut 4" squares instead
of the 3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares listed in cutting
instructions.

From red print, cut:
▫ 9—1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
▫ 13—3^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
From cream tone-on-tone, cut:
▫ 19—1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
▫ 1—4^1 ⁄ 4 " square, cutting it diagonally
twice in an X for 4 triangles total
▫ 24—3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 164—3^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
From red polka dot, cut:
▫ 14—1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
From blue floral, cut:
▫ 1—4^1 ⁄ 4 " square, cutting it diagonally
twice in an X for 4 triangles total
▫ 24—3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 80—3^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
From pink print, cut:
▫ 48—3^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
From blue print, cut:
▫ 10—2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" binding strips
▫ 224—2^3 ⁄ 4 " squares
From cream print, cut:
▫ 112—2^3 ⁄ 4 ×5" rectangles
From red-and-cream stripe, cut:
▫ 112—2^3 ⁄ 4 " squares
From navy floral, cut:
▫ 9—4^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips for border
▫ 28—5" squares
From navy print, cut:
▫ 2—4^1 ⁄ 4 " squares, cutting each
diagonally twice in an X for
8 triangles total

ASSEMBLE A AND B BLOCKS
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.

(^1)
Referring to Diagram 1, sew
together one red print 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
strip, one cream tone-on-tone 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
strip, and one red polka dot 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
strip to make Strip Set A. Repeat to
make nine A strip sets total. Cut strip
sets into 240—1^1 ⁄ 2 "-wide A segments.
(^2)
Referring to Diagram 2, sew
together two cream tone-on-
tone 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips and one red polka
dot 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strip to make Strip Set B.
Repeat to make five B strip sets total.
Cut strip sets into 120—1^1 ⁄ 2 "-wide
B segments.
(^3)
Referring to Diagram 3 for
orientation of A segments, sew
together two A segments and one
B segment to make Unit 1. The unit
should be 3^1 ⁄ 2 " square including seam
allowances. Repeat to make 112 total of
Unit 1.
(^4)
Referring to Diagram 4 for
segment orientation, repeat
Step 3 to make eight of Unit 2.
FINISHED QUILT: 891 ⁄ 2 " square
FINISHED BLOCKS: 9" square
