orientation of striped squares,
lay out four red-and-cream stripe
23 ⁄ 4 " squares, four Flying Geese
units, and one navy floral 5 " square
in three rows. Sew together pieces
in rows. Join rows to make Block D.
The block should be 91 ⁄ 2 " square
including seam allowances. Repeat
to make 28 D blocks total.

sew together two navy print
triangles, one cream tone-on-
tone triangle, and one blue floral
triangle in pairs. Join pairs to make
an hourglass unit. The unit should
be 31 ⁄ 2 " square including seam
