collection like Darlene's Favorites by
Darlene Zimmerman for Robert Kaufman

CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.

From green-and-purple print
(fabric 1), cut:

From solid yellow (fabric 2), cut:
▫ 12—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From gray print (fabric 3), cut:
▫ 16—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From purple-and-white print
(fabric 4), cut:
▫ 142—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From yellow print (fabric 5), cut:
▫ 24—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From blue print (fabric 6), cut:
▫ 28—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From dark pink print (fabric 7), cut:
▫ 32—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From green print (fabric 8), cut:
▫ 113—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From gold-and-blue print (fabric 9),
cut:
▫ 40—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From solid light yellow (fabric 10), cut:
▫ 220—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From purple-and-yellow print

From solid pink (fabric 14), cut:

From light blue print (fabric 15), cut:

From green plaid (fabric 16), cut:
▫ 79—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From solid green (fabric 17), cut:
▫ 96—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From light pink print, (fabric 18), cut:
▫ 100—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From solid lavender, cut:
▫ Enough 2^1 ∕ 2 "-wide bias strips in
varying lengths to total 340" in
length for binding

ASSEMBLE QUILT TOP
Measurements include^1 ∕ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Use a design wall to lay out your
21 ∕ 2 " squares in rows.

Referring to Diagram 1, lay out
fabric 1 squares on-point in a
vertical row on a design wall. Arrange
fabric 2 squares around fabric 1 row.
Repeat with remaining squares in the
order indicated in Diagram 1 until
all squares are placed. Note that the
maker of this vintage quilt used 13
squares of fabric 8 in the fabric 16
round and alternated fabrics 4 and 11
in the final round.
