Cut pair apart on drawn line
to make two triangle units
(Diagram 1). Open each triangle unit,
pressing seams open, to make two
triangle-squares. Each triangle-square
should be 3^1 ⁄ 2 " square including seam
allowances.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make 420
triangle-squares total.

Referring to Diagram 2 lay out
seven triangle-squares and two
assorted bright tone-on-tone, print, or
polka dot medium triangles in three
rows. Sew together pieces in rows;
press seams open. Join rows to make a
block center.

Referring to Diagram 3, sew solid
white large triangles to opposite
edges of block center. Add solid white
large triangles to remaining edges
to make a block. The block should be
131 ⁄ 4 ×9" including seam allowances.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 to make 60
blocks total.
CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.
Cut border strips lengthwise (parallel
to selvages).
From assorted bright tone-on-tones,
prints, and polka dots, cut:
▫ 420—3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 66—3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares, cutting each in
half diagonally for 132 medium
triangles total
From solid white, cut:
▫ 2—2× 893 ⁄ 4 " border strips
▫ 2—2×80" border strips
▫ 120—5^1 ⁄ 8 " squares, cutting each
in half diagonally for 240 large
triangles total
▫ 12—3" squares, cutting each in half
diagonally for 24 small triangles
total
▫ 10—2^5 ⁄ 8 ×9" rectangles
▫ 4—2^5 ⁄ 8 × 43 ⁄ 4 " rectangles
From pink polka dot, cut:
▫ 9—2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" binding strips
ASSEMBLE BLOCKS
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.

Use a pencil or white dressmaker’s
pencil to mark a diagonal line on
wrong side of 210 assorted bright
tone-on-tone, print, and polka dot 3^7 ⁄ 8 "
squares.

Layer a marked bright tone-on-
tone, print, or polka dot square
atop an unmarked, nonmatching
bright tone-on-tone, print, or polka
dot 3^7 ⁄ 8 " square. Sew together with two
seams, stitching^1 ⁄ 4 " on each side of
drawn line (Diagram 1).
FINISHED QUILT: 80 × 923 ⁄ 4 "
FINISHED BLOCK: 123 ⁄ 4 × 81 ⁄ 2 "
