Gideon
Mendel
Gideon Mendel was born
in Johannesburg and first
started photographing in
the 1980s, during the final
years of apartheid. He
moved to the UK in the
early ’90s and had been
published in numerous
illustrious publications
including National
Geographic, The Sunday
Times and Aperture
Magazine. He has also
won many awards,
authored several books
and been widely exhibited.
