theentireTAGsamplingmanoeuvre
performedbyOSIRIS-RExusingits
close-rangecapabilities.
MapCam
MapCammapsthesurface
incolourandwillprovide
theimagesthatthencreate
topographicmaps.Itwill
observetheareaaroundthe
asteroidforsatellitesand
outgassingplumes.
PolyCam
Thislong-rangetelescopewas
thefirsttoseetheasteroidfrom
afar.Itidentifiesanyhazardous
areasandcreateshigh-resolution
imagesofthesurface.
OSIRIS-REx
ThermalEmission
Spectrometer
(OTES)
Thespectrometerwill
acquireinfrareddata
between5.71and 100
micrometres,which
willprovideimportant
informationabout
temperaturesand
themineralogyof
severalregions.
OSIRIS-RExVisibleand
InfraredSpectrometer
(OVIRS)
Asthenamesuggests,this
particularspectrometerwill
acquiredatainthevisibleand
infraredlightspectrumtofind
thespectralsignaturesofa
rangeofmaterials.
Touch-And-GoSample
AcquisitionMechanism
(TAGSAM)
Thesamplerheadandarmwill
retrievethesurfacesamplethat
astronomersareeagerlyawaiting.
TAGSAMhasthreeseparatebottles
ofgaswhichwillallowuptothree
attemptsofcollectinga sample.
