coming clean

Do you find you’re more prone to
break-outs in summer? “Heat and
humidity can increase the production
of sweat and sebum, resulting in a
build-up on the skin’s surface that
can block pores and provide food
to feed acne,” says dermatologist
Dr Davin Lim. While you may feel
the desire to ramp up your cleansing
cycle, Lim says this will only result in
stripping the skin and encouraging
the sebaceous glands to produce
even more oil to combat dryness.
Keep to your regular regimen of
cleansing twice a day and swap your
day moisturiser for a lighter formula,
which will keep excess oil at bay.
