A total of 1300 participants
from 404 different universities
and 36 countries took part
across all four sporting
disciplines, with the Taekwondo
competition made up of
253 participants from 113
universities in 18 different
countries.


The Croatian Academic Sports
Association was the main
organiser of the event together
with the City of Zagreb as an
organisational partner, with
support from World Taekwondo
Europe.


In attendance on behalf of
EUSA was Executive Committee
Representative Ms Ivana Ertlova,
Taekwondo Technical Delegate
Mr Noor Shirali, Assistant
Technical Delegate Ms Johanna
Bliem and Control Commission
Chair Mr Piotr Marzsal.


After four days of exhilarating
action, Ukraine’s National
University of Ukraine in Physical
Education and Sport emerged
victorious in the Mixed Team
Competition, earning three
gold medals in total across all
categories. Portugal’s University
of Minho ended second, with
Kharkiv National Automobile
and Highway University from
Ukraine and Croatia’s University
of Zagreb finishing joint-third.

Taekwondo will next feature
in a EUSA competition at the
fifth edition of the European
Universities Games in Belgrade,
Serbia, before once again
forming part of the EUSA
Combat Championships taking
place in Zagreb, Croatia.
