responsible for creation, maintenance
and destruction is responsible of the

chapter 2 that the soul is imperishable
and eternal while the body perishes.

bhava is the place for it. 8th bhava of
the kala purusha is a watery rasi fixed
in nature. This gives some clue.
Astamam byayusha sthanam
astama dastamam tatha
tayo rapi vyaya sthanam maraka
sthana mutyate.
meaning that the 8th bhaba is
the place for longevity and the 8th to
that i.e. the 3rd bhava is also reckoned
as ayus sthana. The 12th to 8 and
3 i.e. 7 and 2 are maraka sthanas.
Of these two places the 2nd is more
powerful as it is the 12th to 3rd and
7th to 8th both ayu sthanas. Hence
the lords of 7 and 2 are death inflicting
planets. Planets that are in 7 and 2
; planets that are in conjunction with
lords of 7 and 2 are more powerful
to inflict death. Of these lords one
who has lordship over a dustan and
endowed with strength-exaltation etc.

of these planets are not to be
experienced by the native the bhukties
of the above lords during the dasa of
the lord of 12 proves fatal. For

are advised to determine the division
of longevity Alpa, Madhyama, Poorna-
and find out the planet responsible to
cause death. In case the dasa of the
so determined lords are not to be
experienced, we are advised to know
the evil planet-
