Everywhere you look on the streets of Parkes during

the festival there will be an Elvis of some description

• old Elvises, tall Elvises, rotund Elvises and very
  young Elvises. It’s a genuine family aff air and also a
  free event, which makes it very accessible. Only the
  headline Elvis acts are ticketed. Catch the Elvis and
  Blue Suede Express trains from Sydney.

Out of all the events featured in the book, this one

stood out by the sheer eff ort to which participants

had gone to get into the spirit of things by dressing

up in elaborate costumes and putting on intricate

and creative make-up. Think a mix of Pagan, Wicca

and Game of Thrones and you’ll get the idea.
