AcademicGastroenterologist–GeneralGI
TheUniversityofChicago’sDepartmentofMedicine,SectionofGastroenterology,Hepatologyand
Nutrition,issearchingforanassistantprofessorwithinterestsintheareasofgeneralgastroenterology
andthedevelopmentofourcommunityoutreachandhealthcaredisparitiesinGIprograms.The
appointeewill haveamixofoutpatientandinpatientendoscopy,generalGIclinics,andinpatient
consultation.TheappointeewillbeabletostaffclinicsatmultiplesitesincludingChicagolandsuburbs
andNorthwestIndiana.Otherdutieswill includeteachingandsupervisionoftraineesandstudents,
andclinicaland/oroutcomesresearch.Weespeciallywelcomeapplicantswithexperiencemanaging
ageneralGIpractice,inpatientGIconsultservice,andhavetrainingoranacademicrecordstudying
disparities,diversity,outcomes,and/orcommunityengagement.Compensation(includingagenerous
package of fringe benefts) is dependent upon qualifcations.
Prior to the start of employment, quali,ed applicants must: (1) have an medical doctorate or equivalent,
(2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, (3) be Board Certi,ed or Eligible
inGastroenterology.Arecordofclinicalandtranslationalresearchactivitiesandabilitytoapplyfor
externalfundingarepreferred.
