Located near the ski resort of
Deer Valley, the mountain lodge-
style property is in a community
of 12 homes, each with its own
large parcel of land. It spans
about 13,000 square feet with six
bedrooms on roughly 16.5 acres.
The Prewitts said they spent
millions improving the property,
redoing the kitchen and adding
heated outdoor decks and a 20-per-
son hot tub. They said they intend
to sell most of the furniture andespecially their home with its con-
tents,” said Mr. Prewitt, a retired
race car driver, farmer and a vi-
sual artist who formerly worked in
the technology industry. “People
try to spin him up as an out-of-
touch person, but he was com-
pletely down to earth.” The Pre-
witts and Sen. Romney have kept
in touch since, Mr. Prewitt said,
and the couple has supported hisPRIVATE PROPERTIES
art with the
home, since it
integrates so
closely with
the style of the property.
The Prewitts, who are both in
their 60s, said they are selling be-
cause the house is too big for the
two of them since their children
grew up. They split their time be-
tween Park City and Miami, Fla.,
and intend to buy a smaller house
in the area.

they were political independents,
but they developed a rapport with
Sen. Mitt Romney through their
Utah mountain home, which they
bought from him and which still
contains many of his original fur-
nishings.
Now, the Prewitts are selling
the property, which is located at
the edge of Park City, overlooking
the Uinta Mountains. They said
they haven’t settled on a final
price, but estimated they will list
for around $15 million.
When they bought the house
from Mitt and Ann Romney in
2009 for roughly $5 mil-
lion, the Prewitts were
surprised when Sen.
Romney offered to
give them a tour of
the home, which he
and his family had built
in the late 1990s or early
2000s. At the time, Sen.
Romney had recently come off his
first unsuccessful bid for the pres-
idency in 2008, losing out on the
Republican nomination to the late
Sen. John McCain.
