eCommerce solutions often utilize a lot of vertical real estate, and
in scrolling down you inevitably lose sight of certain elements.
These sites prevent that from happening by releasing objects from
the document flow. Once you’ve scrolled down far enough, these
important objects take on fixed positioning, effectively anchoring
them to one point on your screen. Always visible, always available.

A Call to Action is the perfect example of an ‘important’ object
which you’d rather a user didn’t lose from view. The JavaScript
für Designer workshop made sure that visitors were always able
to sign up, irrespective of where they were on the landing page.
Their call to action scrolls to a certain point, then pins itself to one
position.
