FB Messenger
What if you want to communicate directly with a Facebook friend, instead of
writing on their wall for all to see? You need Facebook Messenger, another
free app you can download from the App Store.

Tap your avatar to get to
your account details,
from where you can make
changes and add information.2

photo, adding text and
graphics, if you wish, then

Tap on one to open it in the
right-hand column.11
Your messages are shown
in blue. Messages sent to
you are shown in grey. All
messages are time and
date-stamped.12
You can send photos and
videos via Facebook
Messenger and also web links,
as seen here.13
Tap here to open the
Chats column.14
Opens the People view in
the sidebar. You can see
all your Facebook friends who
are currently active.15
The Discover icon. Shows
subjects, services and

Tap to wave to your
contact, or challenge them

The Four-circles icon lets
you send a GIF, suggest a

Tap here to take a photo
or video to send to your
Facebook Messenger chum.19

Press and hold the Mic
icon to record and send a
voice clip to your chum.21
Tap this and the keyboard
appears, allowing you to

This allows you to send
