WANDERING
TRADERS
The wandering traderis a special
kind of villager who wears ablue
and gold robe andcan be found –
as the namesuggests – wandering
between villages. They appear
randomly in the Overworld and
sometimes in villages themselves,
and are accompanied by two llamas
on leashes.
There can only ever be one
wandering traderin the world
at anygiven time,andthe game
tries to spawn a newone within a
48-blockrange of the player every
20 minutes, although the chanceof
this happening is low –never more
than one in 13tries. After 40-
minutes, the wandering traderwill
automatically despawn.
At dusk or if attacked, they’ll drink
a Potion of Invisi bility, andwhen the
sun rises, they’ll drink a bucket of
milk to reverse the effects.
The cool thing aboutwandering
tradersis that their trades are
random, so it allows you to swap
emeralds for rare itemsthat you
might otherwise struggleto find!

If you want to trade anitem and
allow multiple villagers to see what
you have, you can now make a
“trade offering”. If you standin a
village with the itemyou want to
tradein your hand,villagers who
want the itemwillapproach you
andshow you the itemsthey have
to trade, switching between them
everyfew seconds.
When you know what tradeyou
want to make, you can then open
the normal trading interfaceto
make it. Tradeoffering is especially
useful if you have multiple villagers
of the sametype at different levels!
