ROSES
The rose was a flower that
was obtainable in Minecraft
Java Edition up to version
1.7. 2 andremoved from
otherversions around the
sametime. It was replaced
by the poppy andhad
identical behaviour to it –
you could find it growing
wild in grasslands and
craft it into red dye. This
is why the dye was, until
recently, called rose red!
Rose bushes are nowin
the gameinstead of single
roses, probably because

You can currently find enchanted golden
apples in chests andthat’s the only way
to get them, butfor awhile they were
craftable! You can craft anormal golden
apple by surrounding an applewith ingots.
To craft an enchanted one, which was
possible until Java Edition version 1.3.1,
you surrounded an apple with blocks of
gold – 72ingots worth of gold! It was just
too unrealistic.u
