BUILD A SUPERHERO WORLD

SURVEILLANCE
Superheroes needto know where
crime is happening to stop it. You
can set up a surveillance system
using small pa intings to look like
video screens!We started by placing
a 2x3 block of black concrete, then
surrounding it withsea lanternsfor a
futuristic glowing effect.
When placing a painting, remember
the game calculates the space it has
using the block you interact with as
the bottom left. So for a 1x1 pa inting,
you have to wall off the top and
right of the block you place it on.
Add some marble blocks at the
base as aworkstation, a powered
or activator rail as akeyboard, and
marble stairs as aseat.
Add aroof hatchROOF HATCH
Every superhero needs a quick
way in and outof their ba se,
and you don’t want to smash
through the ceiling every time
you needto drop in. A skylight
or roof hatch is a MUST-HAVE
for anysuperhero base!
There are afew ways you
can do it – you could use a
standardtrapdoor, or you
could use a redstone trigger
and pistons to pull the blocks
away. We like to keep it simple,
though – four pieces of railing
arranged in a square creates
a small buteasy-to-hit gap
that you can drop through
without having to interact with
anything. Rememberto hide it
slig htly so people can’t spot it!MAP TABLE
Whether you’re plotti ng out incidents or trying
to find your way to the nearest crime, a map
of the ar ea around your baseis an essential
partof a superhero lair. Build a table of single
blocks and surroundit withstairs (so that you
can look down on it easier).
Now, lay item frames in a grid and start
placing maps into them. We’ve gone with
standard1:1 zoom maps, butyou can make
larger ones if you like!SUPERHERO LOGO
Superheroes are all about branding, so you’ll
needto add alogo to your base.We decided
to make ours yellow and light blue, and
created it out of three ba nners. If you look at
the screenshot on the previous page,you can
see that we also made a large version on the
