Hollywood @ home
life of an actor often means living out of a suit-
case on location, these days he tries to stay put as
much as possible. “Other places that I’ve lived, I
didn’t put my personality into,” he admits. “This
is a home I’ll be in for quite some time.”
One of Morris’s favorite areas is his large living
room, which connects to the open kitchen and an
outdoor dining area beyond. “I love this room,”
he says. “I open the doors, I make a drink and just
relax. It’s the most peaceful thing I could do.” He
also loves to entertain. In addition to his brother
and his writing partner who live with him, Morris
has hosted a crew of friends for weekly hangouts.
“We invite, like, 10 people over for a mini party,”
he says. “We barbecue, and being by the pool is
a must. It ends pretty early,
though. By 8 p.m. I’m ready to
go to bed!” The schedule does
allow him to indulge in one rit-
ual he cherishes at the start of
every day: preparing his first
cup of coffee. “It’s the routine,”
he adds. “In the mornings, hav-
ing coffee and sitting down in
the kitchen, that makes a house
feel like a home to me.”•
