GAMEPLAY
Some items can only be accessed by
turning on the experimenta l gameplay
setting, which is found in the options
menu. These features are par tially or
incompletely implemented and will almost
certainly change before launch, but you
can also get an early look at them!
Bamboo forests have been add ed to
biome gener ation. They’re a variant of
jungle s and contain ba mboo shoots,
podzol and pandas.
New blocks including the ba rrel, bell, blast
furnace, cartography table, grindstone and
smoker ar e available in Creative mode, but
curr ently have no function.
The fl etchin g table can be crafted by
using a crafting table and an arrow on a
crafting gr id, and
the Smithing Table
can be crafted from
a crafting table
and cobblestone.
Although you can
craft these items,
they also do n’t do
anything yet!
Lanterns have
been add ed as a
light sour ce, bu t
can’t be crafted
yet. They’re
only accessible
in the Creative
inventory. Unlike
torches, they can
be hung from
ceilings and emit
a light level of
15 – one higher
than a torch.
Pillagers have
now been add ed to the Bedrock Edition’s
experimenta l mode. These hostile mobs are
considered a subset of the illagers. They
have 12 hearts of health (24 points) and
carry crossbows. Killing one will make it it s
drop arrows and potentially its crossbows.
As in the Java Edition, pillagers can raid
a village, tak ing it over and killing the
villagers inside. Unlike zombies, skeletons
and other hu man-type mobs, they can’t
equip armou r.
