“I just couldn’t answer,” he said. “I never thought that my opinion
mattered.”


Ultimately, he made the difficult choice.
“The left side was a workspace for sketching and light model making,”
he recalled. “The right side was for a computer, and it had a pull-out
keyboard tray. The area in the center was for pinups like sketches and
research boards. Everything was ergonomically designed, in arm-reach
distance.”


Though many workspaces have this sort of layout today, back then it
was novel.
