DAILY BREAD

EVERYDAY ESSENTIAL

LOCATE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
Make sure you can put your hands on vital documents
like your birth certificate, your marriage certificate,
and the deeds to your home and cars. “These should be in a
fire-safe box, in a place where you or your loved ones can
find them,” says Keckler.

LABEL FILES
“Think of this time of year as the perfect season to do
financial spring cleaning,” says Marcy Keckler, VP of
financial advice strategy at Ameriprise. To start, clearly label
files and folders (say, “house expenses” and “retirement info”),
whether you’re organizing paper or digital copies.

AUTOMATE FINANCES
Once your files are all clearly marked and
in order, automate your digital finances as much
as possible by enrolling in autopay for any bills that
you expect to incur every month. Also, consider setting up
automatic transfers to your savings account.

Organize Your

Finances

It’s tax season, so it’s only natural that you have finances on the brain—
if not literally spread out all over your desk. While you’re knee-deep in deductions
and write-offs, why not take care of a little monetary housekeeping?

FACIAL SPRAY
“I use this spray to quickly refresh my skin without ruining my makeup. It
instantly makes my face glow and feel more moisturized. Plus, it’s inexpensive
and easy to throw in my bag.” —Annie O’Sullivan, editorial assistant
