MOOD BOARD

I’m all about personal highs—which is why I’m a particular fan of

mountain climbing. Nothing makes me happier than trekking up

where the air is clear—especially in the spring, when the snow

melts and the first wildflowers start to bloom. I’m not the only one

to find inspiration at elevation. Alpyn Beauty’s products are creat-

ed with skin-soothing wild arnica, chamomile, borage, and sage

grown 6,237 feet above sea level, in the mountains of Jackson Hole,

Wyoming. The skincare from We Are Wild, a company based in

Portland, Oregon, comes in solid formulas that are easy to pack for

outdoor adventures. (I’m a fan of Solid Clean, a

cleanser with edelweiss extract.) And Pour Moi

makes climate-specific moisturizers. (I pack the

Mountain Day Cream when I’m hiking.) But not

everything needs to be utilitarian up here!

Givenchy’s blush compact is emblazoned with a

wildflower print, and there are new fragrances

that evoke the fresh mountain air, including Lily

Aldridge’s Summit and Jo Malone London’s Sil-

ver Birch & Lavender. Who says a mountaineer

can’t be glamorous too?
