ELECTRICS


Withsomanygadgetsand

scopeforhasslebutnomorethanany
modernbike.Likemostrelativelyrecent
BMWs,theR isknownforswitchgear-
relatedwoesbutthey’reusuallysorted
underwarranty.Therewerea few
reportsofnigglyproblemseventually
tracedtodamagedlooms,especially
wherethey’dbeenpoorlyroutedafter
beingmovedduringservicing.
Symptomsincludedglitcheswiththe
cruisecontrolandheatedgrips(where
fitted)trippingout.Dickymicroswitches
intheclutch-leverbodycanalsocause
troublewiththecruisecontrol.
