Within Us—we don’t have an accurate accounting of device implantation
in our world.
To understand the full scale of the medical industrial complex and the
implant revolution, an investigator has to turn his gaze not just at the
edifices (like the Texas Medical Center) and the financial numbers, but to
the recipients, to those walking among us who carry the implants in their
bodies. Shockingly, no one has ever attempted to calculate the numbers of
devices that are implanted on an annual basis, and certainly no one has
estimated the percentage of Americans or Europeans who have an implant
or device in their body.
