Typical hematoxylin and eosin slide of human tissue, in this case, the retina, with the nuclei
(containing DNA) stained a deep purple and the surrounding tissue a light crimson red. Staining
brought the microscopic world out of a dreary nonsensical whitewash into a focused picture of
