laws) Mark and Lynne Schneider, Ben and Rochelle Platter, Daniel and
Gisella Schneider, Tim and Jenny Brynteson, Elizabeth (and Charlie!)
Garnsey, and Herrick and Diane Garnsey have been an enormous source of
inspiration and wisdom.
Wendy Garnsey Schneider and I have been together for over thirty
years. Our four adult children, Emily, Luke, Jonathan, and Jennifer, are my
greatest pride and joy. In the final analysis, their approval and estimation
of my job as a father is what I live for. I wish them the best of what life
has to offer. Each of our four kids is uniquely talented and fated to
accomplish something special. I can’t wait to see whom they become.
Finally, to Wendy, my soulmate and best friend. We were college kids
when we first met and it didn’t take long to fall deeply in love. Often,
surgeons marry after all the arduous training is completed, but we married
each other a few weeks before medical school started. Year after
challenging year, Wendy saw me at my best, and more often, at my worst.
Despite the unbelievable demands of med school and residency, our
marriage (and budding family) flourished, even as we survived the low
times. My life has been vastly improved by your presence and undying
support, and I will never be able to describe my adoration and admiration
for your wisdom, love, and support. Looks like you’re stuck with me
forever! Now, on to the next adventure.
