Palmetto Bluff has been my home for the last 29 years. We have a saying here: “It begins with the land,”
which means this land, this water, these thousands of species are bigger than you and me. It’s my job
as the Conservancy director to be a steward of this promise. We set up the Conservancy to make sure
development and our natural environment coexist in harmony. Everything is predicated on the needs
of those inhabitants that can’t speak. I spent my youth exploring, hunting and getting lost in these
