Wild Turkeys

It’s no secret eastern

wild turkeys are one of
my favorite residents

at Palmetto Bluff. I love

the intricate language

that they use to
communicate with one

another — any other

bird species has two
or three diff erent calls;

the wild turkey has a

full vocabulary.

The Palmetto Bluff
Conservancy hosts over
300 hikes, lectures,
fi eld trips and events
annually for Palmetto
Bluff residents, guests
and visitors. These
events give participants
an immersive experience
and appreciation of the
Lowcountry landscape
and its inhabitants.

Spartina Grass
This tiny element supports an entire marsh
ecosystem, including oysters and dolphins.
Spartina is the beginning of the circle of
life in our saltwater ecosystem.
