We’re here.

And thanks to you,

we’re ready.

An open letter to the employees of Verizon:

Thank you. All of you.

We’ve never been so proud of our community of technicians,

engineers, store employees, and customer service reps
who are doing essential, critical work all over the country.

You’re making a difference in people’s lives that won’t soon

be forgotten. At a time when the country is forced to be apart,

you’re helping us come together.

Students, teachers, coworkers, families, friends, and doctors

are all able to bring some stability to unstable times because

of the connections you’re securing.

And the amount of connections is staggering:

Home internet usage is up 88%. An average of 8 billion

text messages per day on our wireless network. An average

of 800 million wireless calls each weekday—nearly twice

the call volume as Mother’s Day.

And through it all, the network stands tall because every day

of this crisis you’ve upheld our new mission to keep people home,

keep them connected and keep them safe.

So thank you.

Because of you, we’re here, and we stand ready.
