GROUNDING YOUR 3D
Here’s a tip for those of you who work with 3D in Photo-
shop. When you add more than one object, it’s important
that they’re properly positioned so that things are cor-
rectly anchored to the ground. You could zoom in really
close and carefully position everything on the ground
plane, or use the numbers to position your object. How
about this for a suggestion? Click on the 3D menu and
choose Move Object to Ground Plane—nice and easy!

DUPLICATE MULTIPLE LAYERS
There are a few ways to duplicate a layer: You can drag it
to the Create a New Layer icon at the bottom of the layers
panel; you can press Command-J (PC: Ctrl-J)—my favorite
method; or, you can hold down the Option (PC: Alt) key
and drag out a copy in the Layers panel. Maybe you knew
all of these, and maybe you didn’t. But, did you know you
can also duplicate multiple layers at the same time? Click
the top layer you want to duplicate in the Layers panel,
and then scroll all the way to the last layer you want to
include. Shift-click that layer, and all the layers will now
be selected. (You can also Command-click [PC: Ctrl-click]
noncontiguous layers to select them.) Now, use any of the
aforementioned methods, and all the selected layers will
be duplicated at once.

LOAD LUMINOSITY
There are times when you want to select only the lightest
parts of an image, say for masking, retouching, colorizing,
or many other purposes. It’s actually much simpler than
you think. Open the Channels panel (Window>Channels),
hold down the Command (PC: Ctrl) key, and click on the
RGB thumbnail. All the brightest parts (luminosity) of the
image will be selected.

PUPPET WARP MULTIPLE POINTS
Puppet Warp (Edit>Puppet Warp) is a really useful tool
to bend and distort shapes, especially for bending and
moving limbs. It works by adding points, known as pins.
These pins are then repositioned to move the underlying
pixels. To get a realistic warp, you usually need to move
several points at the same time. To select multiple points,
click a point, and then hold down the Shift key as you
click additional points. Each point you click will be added
to the selection. Selected pins have a blue dot in the
middle of them. Now you can easily move one of the pins,
and all of the selected ones will move together.

ADDING UP THE BOXES
Did you know Photoshop can do math inside text fields?
This means that, for example, if you want to change the
